Goods transporters on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against the rising incidence of extortion and terrorism, urging the government to restore peace on highways and cities. Hundreds of goods transporters held a rally at Mianwali Colony to denounce extortionism, plundering of passenger buses and terrorism in the country. Protestors carrying placards and banners chanted demanded of the government to restore peace in the country. Al-Haaj Khan Dil Khan led the rally

Later, addressing protestors, Khan said the government should take interest in resolving law and order problem in Karachi. He condemned the violent attacks and targeted killings. He said terrorists were compelling the peaceful residents of Manghopir to be up at arms. The participants of the rally dispersed peacefully after Rangers and police assured them of security in the area against extortionists.
